Homeopathy for the stressed out farmer

“I feel that this workshop is very well timed!! Book NOW to avoid disappointment. I promise it will be a very valuable couple of hours. Managing stress and our emotional balance is one of my favourite subjects - especially as life has placed me in that zone for the last 30 years!”
- Sara Kernohan, Homeopath and Complementary Healthcare Practitioner

To be truly healthy, all aspects of the farm must be considered, including the health and wellbeing of those who work and/or live there.

This webinar, presented by Sara Kernohan, a homeopath with a background in mental and emotional support, is aimed at farmers (and their families) who, by the very nature of the farming lifestyle, often put their own health and wellbeing last.

However tough, organised and competent we are, life often deals us the unexpected, and shock, grief, worry, or exhaustion can affect us all - often completely out of the blue. Homeopathy can help restore balance in many of these instances and Sara shares her lifetime of work experience helping people overcome emotional trauma including PTSD.

This webinar also features Rafe Nauen, a retired dairy farmer who joins Sara in conversation to share his personal experience of mental and emotional stress.

This webinar will cover:

  • Homeopathic remedies for a range of stresses, including:

  • Shock

  • Grief

  • Mood Swings

  • Loss of Confidence

  • Exhaustion and Overwhelm

  • Sadness and Depression

  • Anger

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • How to select remedies for yourself (and family)

  • Self-prescribing: frequency, potency, dosage etc'

  • How to manage your own case

  • Recognising red flags and that you need medical help

  • Other support option

Suitable for:

Farmers with some knowledge of homeopathy, (eg who have done a course), are WHAg Pro Members, or members of WHAg support groups.

Homeopathic remedies in the treatment of sheep

An introductory talk to inspire anyone who is interested.  Obviously homeopathy is a big field with professional homeopaths in the UK committing to a minimum four years of training. None the less, for UK farmers we find that it is possible to get good foundation in the principles over a five day course with an on going support program.

Within an hour I will cover some of the basics:

  • The essence of a whole health approach.

  • How homeopathy can fit into the strategy.

  • Some key areas where UK shepherds find it helpful:

    • Accidents & Injuries

    • Lambing

    • Young Lambs

    • Lameness

    • Infectious Diseases

  • How to learn more

By the end of the session, the farmers will be empowered to know how they can get started with using homeopathy as a new tool in their toolbox and where they can find other resources to learn more.

Oxford Real Farming Conference 2022

This is always an inspiring conference to attend.  This year the Whole Health Agriculture give a presentation: “Reducing antibiotic and anthelmintic use through homeopathy, herbs and medicinal plants on livestock farms in the UK”

Alternative and traditional methods based on farmers’ observations, knowledge and wisdom are having massive success in significantly reducing anthelmintic and antibiotic use on UK farms. The results of a Whole Health Agriculture (WHAg) survey of over 220 livestock farmers will be presented in this session. It shows that homeopathy, herbal treatments and a range of complementary and alternative methods (CAMs) is achieving up to 69% reduction in antibiotic use, up to 70% reduction in vet costs, significant reduction in disease frequency and severity and massive improvement in livestock health

Following an overview, this session will look at the top three methods considered to be most efficacious by surveyed farmers: nosodes and homeopathic remedies, herbs and medicinal plants, and essential/plant- derived oils. The practical details behind the results will be explained, and discussion will be informed by "the voices of the farmers" whose wisdom and experience has been ignored for too long.

Speakers:

  • Lawrence Woodward (Speaker)Whole Health Agricuture and Beyond GM

  • Kate Scott (Speaker)www.roundhillagriculturalconsultancy.com, Partner

  • Chris Aukland (Speaker)Whole Health Agriculture, Head of Livestock Health Programmes
